Fund Manager is a Windows
portfolio management application for the individual investor,
professional trader, and investment advisor.
Fund Manager will provide you with a wide variety of graphical
and numerical information to help you monitor your investments.
The program can display many different types of graphs and
reports. Graphs allow you to visually see the performance
of your investments and portfolios from many different viewpoints.
Reports provide numerical data, including a wide variety
of figures of merit for your investments and portfolios.
Reports can be customized and memorized.
Fund Manager can also overlay markers on the graphs showing
you when/where significant events occurred, such as transactions
and/or notes. These markers are useful to help you see at
what relative price you made your investments.
Fund Manager will calculate and display a variety of true
yield figures for each investment or for your entire portfolio,
over any specified period of time. The two 'Fund Performance'
yields show how well the investment performed, independent
of when you invested. The 'Return On Investment' (ROI) yield
shows how well your investments performed, depending upon
when you invested. ROI yield provides information for your
specific investment, and lets you see numerically how well
you timed the market by seeing whether or not you outperformed
the fund yields.
Fund Manager provides a user-friendly interface for updating
the information for each investment. Fund Manager allows
you to enter purchases, redemptions, distributions, and
share price updates. Volume, high, low, and open data is
also optionally tracked. One of Fund Manager's most popular
features is the ability to automatically retrieve and update
prices from the Internet. Fund Manager has many other powerful
price and transaction retrieval capabilities.
Fund Manager makes tax time a breeze. The Capital Gain
- FIFO, Capital Gain - Specific Lot, and Capital Gain -
AVG reports have the same format and information required
on the IRS Schedule D. Capital gains information can be
exported to TurboTax through a Tax eXchange Format (.TXF)
file. Support for wash sale rules is available in the Professional
and Advisor versions.
Fund Manager allows you to set up different portfolios.
For example, you may have one portfolio named 'stocks',
another named 'mutuals', and one called 'all'. Within Fund
Manager (or from the command line), you can either open
individual investments or open a portfolio. Portfolios allow
you to save a user-defined work-space. The next time you
start Fund Manager, you can simply open this portfolio which
will open multiple investment files and set your desired
options, as they were when you last saved this portfolio.
Fund Manager offers price alerts. When an investment's
price crosses some threshold you have specified, alerts
can notify you via a simple popup window, e-mail, or your
pager. The Professional and Advisor versions support advanced
alerts, such as trailing stop loss alerts.
