LOAN PERFORMER
has been developed in Microsoft Visual Foxpro 7.0. It comes
with a Visual Foxpro database as part of the package. It is
a Multi-User loan tracking application.
LOAN PERFORMER combines basic Client Data with Shares,
Savings and Loan Transactions and also a General Ledger
is included.
LOAN PERFORMER handles individual clients as well as groups.
Deposits and loans can be tracked at group level or at group-member
level. This makes the program also suitable for Solidarity
lending, Village-Banking and Grameen-type lending.
Transactions are Directly Processed (no batch-processing).
You can use LOAN PERFORMER as a back-office application
in a Centralized environment with many branches or on the
counter in a De-Centralized environment where LOAN PERFORMER
runs in a branch office. In the last case, Consolidation
of branch data at Head Office can take place by importing
branch data into a corporate database.
Shares, Savings and Loan Transactions are Automatically
Booked to the General Ledger. The account numbers and labels
of the chart of accounts can be set by the user. Accounting
data can be Exported to third party accounting software
and LOAN PERFORMER accounts can be mapped to local accounts.
LOAN PERFORMER can be linked to an external (branch) Planning
Tool in the form of an Excel spreadsheet. This spreadsheet/planning
model can be modified so that it generates monthly targets
for a number of indicators. LOAN PERFORMER can read those
indicators and produce monthly monitoring reports, where
these targets are compared to actual achievements.
LOAN PERFORMER supports 10 User Levels: supervisor, branch
manager, assistant manager, savings officer, cashier, teller,
credit officer, accountant, accounts assitant and guest
user. Each user belongs to one of these groups. Menu items
can be activated or de-activated for each user group (except
supervisor and guest user). Institutions with the right
know-how can also write their own modules (in Visual Foxpro)
and "hang" them as menu items in the LOAN PERFORMER
menu structure.
LOAN PERFORMER provides information on the following entities:
Shares, Loans, Deposits, Accounts, Target Group, Credit
Officers, Loan Funds, Branches, Products, Donor Agencies,
Geographical Area's and Business Sectors. It has a facility
to add your own items as Client or Loan categories and print
reports on for instance loans to residents and refugees,
loans for assets and working capital, consumption loans
versus production loans, etc.
LOAN PERFORMER is straight-forward and very easy to work
with. It comes with Windows Help. Pressing function key
F1 on a form invokes context sensitive help. The Help file
is also available as a 100 page manual. The Help file is
now also available in French and Spanish (and soon also
in Russian version).
Data can be imported regarding basic client data, savings
transactions, loan applications, approvals, disbursement
and loan repayments and general ledger transactions. General
ledger transactions can also be exported to other accounting
packages like Sun Systems, Navision and Quickbook. Loan
data can be archived as well.
Report Generation is very flexible (e.g. dates, print order,
client types etc. can all be set by the user). LOAN PERFORMER
supports any range of printers (as supported by Windows
95/98/2000/NT/XT) but all report formats are on A4 paper.
Reports are generated real-time and can be pre-viewed or
printed or exported as DBF, XLS or PDF files. PDF files
can be read with the Adobe Acrobat Reader (which is freeware)
or be read and modified with Adobe Acrobat (not for free).
If needed, LOAN PERFORMER can come with Foxfire Report Generator
and the user can design his own reports. LOAN PERFORMER
can also print receipts.
LOAN PERFORMER comes standard with FoxFix database protection.
This is an external library that validates the database
at startup and checks for any errors that may corrupt the
database. In general, these are caused by switching off
the computer without properly closing the LOAN PERFORMER
application. Foxfix can in most cases correct these errors.
Nevertheless, the user has to take care that daily backups
are made.
The Hardware Requirements for the software are moderate:
a Pentium computers equipped with Windows95/98 or Windows2000/WindowsNT/XT
and at least 32 MB Ram memory is needed. For a network you
can use Windows Networking, Novell or WindowsNT/2000. We
recommend a minimum screen resolution of 800 by 600 pixels.
Printing is always on A4 paper.
